Lynnea Eckhoff

Lynnea is currently serving as board Secretary. She has a background in education and currently works in project management for a large hospital system in the Midwest. She lives in Fargo, ND with her two cats, Gatsby and Daisy. She is an avid runner and has recently started teaching aerial classes. In addition to serving as the board secretary for Let's Build a Community, Lynnea is involved in local organizations that focus on uplifting BIPOC individuals and businesses. 

April Simmons

April is the board Treasurer. She is a graduate of Bookkeeper Launch and owner of Simmons Bookkeeping Solutions. She has always been interested in sustainable practices for individuals and businesses, which led to her joining the LBAC board to serve as treasurer. April lives in Washington with her husband and amazing daughter, along with their two dogs and horses. Being a mother is the greatest pride and joy of her life! April is also a horse enthusiast and will usually be found spending her free time working with her horses or out on a trail ride.

Jess Simpkins, MD

Jess, the board's President and founder of LBAC, is a medical doctor turned community enthusiast. She's lived in five states over the last four years and currently calls Spokane, WA home. Jess has always loved bringing people together and finding creative uses for things other people might see as trash. In her free time, she loves discovering new coffee shops, reading about psychology, forest bathing, and snuggling up with her dog, Lola. 

Pink Varela

Hailing from Los Angeles, Pink is an artist, graphic designer, and fierce advocate for youth and young adults experiencing homelessness. With a lifelong passion for art, Pink stays busy with their art brand and business (Pink Viruz) and with their role as chair of the Spokane Youth Action Board.

Pink also serves on the Spokane Continuum of Care Board and on the advisory boards for Mockingbird and Team Child. Improving the lives of young people in the community, especially those facing unfortunate life circumstances, is of utmost importance to Pink.
